Streets, Jacaranda City - 2021

This is a photo of Tshwane, Pretoria, South Africa with the Jacaranda trees in bloom. The Union Building, the seat of government, is in Tshwane, Pretoria. However, it is better known for the Jacaranda trees, and is locally referred to as Jacaranda City.

When I first arrived in Tshwane, it was October and the Jacaranda trees were in full purple bloom. So first perception is of a purple Pretoria. Its difficult to resist the picturesque prettiness of the Jacaranda trees in full purple bloom, so I have photos for each year I have lived in this city. Except, I think, for 2020. Mostly because we did not go out as much because of the Covid19 lockdowns.
